यतो हस्तस्ततो दृष्टिः
यतो दृष्टिस्ततो मनः
यतो मनस्ततो भावः
यतो भावस्ततो रसः
Where the hands go, the eyes follow;
where the eyes go, the mind follows.
Where the hands go, the eyes follow;
where the eyes go, the mind follows.
नृत्यं तु भगवान् शिवः
गीतं देवी सरस्वती तालं
ब्रह्मा प्रकल्पयेत्,
रसःविष्णुःप्रकीर्तितः॥
Lord Shiva is the source of dance, Goddess Saraswati of music; Brahma created rhythm, and Vishnu is celebrated as the essence of artistic expression
नृत्येन आत्मा वदति
"Through dance, the soul speaks."
